Game downloads take too long - what can I do?
|
|
Indiagames Games on Demand Player can download games while your computer is not being used to play games. Whenever you close the Indiagames Games on Demand player during the download you can check the checkbox to continue downloading the game. Press the "yes" button and the Indiagames Games on Demand player will take care of the rest. The next time you try to play that game it will be ready to go! Best of all, you can "schedule" multiple games to download one after another, so if you start downloading before going to bed the next day all of your games will be ready. Please remember that your computer must be connected to the Internet for the downloads to work, and the only way to start this feature is to close the Indiagames Games on Demand player during the download process.

Why
do I need to download and install the Indiagames Games on Demand Player (EXEtender)
? |
|
All games on the
Indiagames Games on Demand service run from the EXEtender
Player.
Without it, you cannot use the service.
The EXEtender Player must be downloaded and installed
onto each PC from which you want to use the
service.
|
 |
How
do I launch a game? |
|
There are 2 ways to
launch a game: 1. Click the Play button on one of the
game list pages, or 2. Click the Play button on the
game page
The EXEtender Player opens and starts
to pre-cache the game. You can begin using the game as
soon as the necessary pieces of the game are on your
computer. The Play button will be activated on the
EXEtender Player when the game is ready.
|
 |
Why
do I have to pre-cache a game? |
|
Pre-caching is the
process by which parts of the game are loaded into your
EXEtender Player to make the game ready for you to use
without waiting for the whole game to download. The
caching process continues while you use the
game.
The EXEtender Player continuously stays one
step ahead of the game and caches data files before they
are required by the game. This ensures that you
experience the highest quality gaming experience, along
with the shortest possible launch time for the
game.
When you launch a game for the first time,
a progress bar appears on your EXEtender Player that
indicates the estimated caching time for the
game.
|
 |
How
long does it take to cache a game? |
|
It depends on the game!
Typically it may take anywhere from a few seconds to 30
minutes - the faster your connection, the quicker your
caching time.
Caching usually takes longest when
you launch a game for the first time.
The game
should launch much quicker when you run it
again.
|
 |
Are
games cached every time I use them? |
|
Cached data that is
stored on your PC does not have to be cached again. Each
game requires a certain amount of cached data in order
for you to start using the game. Once the required data
is cached, the game launches and you can begin using
it.
The EXEtender Player continuously stays one
step ahead of the game and caches data files before they
are required by the game. This ensures a user experience
of the highest quality, along with the shortest possible
launch time for the game.
|
 |
Can
I play games in multiplayer mode - if so, how?
|
|
Yes!

multiplayer mode, as long as the game contains a
multiplayer launch option. To play a game in multiplayer
simply select the Multiplayer option in the Main Menu of
the game.
|
 |

the game to run - what should I do? |

system requirements for the game to see what components
you are missing. Download and install the necessary
program or component and try to launch the game
again.
|
 |
I
was using a game when the Service prompted me to insert
a new disk - what should I do? |
|
The Indiagames Games on Demand
service mimics the same games that you could buy on
CD-ROM from the store. You don’t need a CD to run this
service, yet a game may still ask you for one. If it
does, you may need to instruct the Service to insert or
switch to the appropriate CD.
To instruct the
Service to insert or switch a CD when necessary, hold
down the Ctrl+F(n) keys on your keyboard. (n is the CD
number you want to activate, so if you want the Service
to activate CD number 2, hold down the Ctrl+F2 keys on
your keyboard).

EXEtender Icon in your task bar and select the

I access my account from any PC? |
|
Yes! You can access your
account from any PC, as long as you are connecting from Indiagames Broadband Network.
|
 |
If
I save a game on one PC, can I continue using the same
game on another PC? |
|

is stored on your PC’s hard drive and therefore,
specific information from a game you save on one PC
cannot be accessed from another PC.
|
 |
Can
I play the games without the internet
connection? |

connected to the Internet in order to play the games.
